LOINC Code 70013-8: Coxsackievirus IgG IA Ql
70013-8 is a LOINC code used to identify Coxsackievirus IgG IA Ql in laboratory and clinical observation data. You may see this code in lab systems, lab reports, EHR exports, interoperability feeds, or other structured clinical data exchanges. LOINC codes identify tests, measurements, observations, survey items, and clinical questions in a standardized way. It is associated with the component Coxsackievirus Ab.IgG. It is commonly used with the system or sample type Ser/Plas.
What is this code?
LOINC codes identify tests, measurements, observations, survey items, and clinical questions in a standardized way. It is associated with the component Coxsackievirus Ab.IgG. It is commonly used with the system or sample type Ser/Plas.
When is it used?
- Used in lab systems, EHRs, and clinical data exchange.
- May identify a test, observation, survey item, or clinical document request rather than a diagnosis.
- Status: ACTIVE
- Order vs observation: Both
- Method: IA
What it does not mean
- The code identifies the observation or test, not the actual result.
Key facts
- Coxsackievirus IgG Ab [Presence] in Serum or Plasma by Immunoassay
- Coxsackievirus Ab.IgG
- Antibodies in serum or plasma directed against Coxsackievirus can be detected by enzyme immunoassays. This code was created for, but not limited to, Institut Viron's SERION ELISA classic Coxsackievirus IgA/IgG/IgM test kit, which utilizes antigens for Coxsackieviruses serotypes B1 and B6. These antigens, described as widely cross-reactive, are used to facilitate the detection of infections due to other Coxsackieviruses serotypes. Due to the high homology of the viruses, cross reactions with Coxsackieviruses and other Enteroviruses as well as Hepatitis A virus, Epstein Barr Virus (EBV), Cytomegalovirus (CMV), Rhinoviruses and Mycoplasma have been described. A positive IgA and/or IgM test result combined with increasing IgG titer is diagnostic of an acute or recent Coxsackievirus infection.
