Key facts

Hip disability and osteoarthritis outcome score - physical function shortform panel [HOOS-PS]
Hip disability and osteoarthritis outcome score - physical function shortform panel
The HOOS-PS is a derivative of the Hip disability and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (HOOS). It is a reduced 5-item short measure of physical function using the daily living, sports and recreational activity subscales of the HOOS. This tool is intended to attain a feasible, short measure of physical function with interval level properties to assess the patient's opinion about their hip and associated problems. [PMID30419279] Items are coded from 0 to 4, none to extreme respectively. The HOOS-PS questionnaire is scored by summing the raw response (range 0-20) and then using a nomogram to convert the raw score to a true interval score (0-100). HOOS-PS can be scored in two directions, best to worst and worst to best. [http://www.koos.nu]
